INGREDIENTS
- 1 USDA Prime Filet Mignon
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 2 slices white cheddar cheese
- 1/2 red onion, sliced
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 cup frying oil
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 loaf ciabatta bread
- Salt and pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
- Sprinkle the filet with garlic salt and cook to your desired temperature. Let rest and then slice.
- In a small bowl, combine vinegar and half of the sliced onions. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine the remaining onions and flour. In a pan, heat frying oil over medium heat and toss the floured onions until crispy. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine mayonnaise, garlic cloves, and salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
- Toast the ciabatta bread until crispy and spread garlic aioli on the bottom side of the bread. Layer sliced filet and top with cheddar cheese. Use a torch to melt the cheese and top with both crispy and pickled onion. Place top bread on top of the sandwich and slice in half before serving.
