Additional Details

  • The leg bone of the lamb allows for rich marrow-driven flavor and more moisture than boneless counterparts.

  • 11oz make for a generous individual portion, or a sharable cut for two.

  • Anderson Ranches lamb is 100% grass-fed and pasture-raised by generational ranchers without antibiotics or added hormones. They raise their lamb the way nature intended – on open pastures and fields, eating forbs, herbs, and grasses.

  • Lamb is a very nutrient-rich choice with an excellent source of Vitamin B12 and zinc.
  • Each order is packed with dry ice so that it stays completely frozen while en route to your doorstep.

How To Prepare

  • Thaw your Lamb Steak in the refrigerator overnight (8-12 hours) before cooking. To speed up the thawing process, place the vacuum-sealed lamb in a leak-proof plastic bag and submerge it in cold water.

  • For the most flavor and crispiest texture, grill or pan-sear your Lamb Steak.

  • Cook to an internal temperature of 145° F for medium rare. More or less depending on your desired temperature.

  • Note: Consuming raw or undercooked lamb may increase your risk of foodborne illness.

FAQs

FAQs

Is this cut a Lamb Leg Steak?
+
-

Yes, this steak is cut from the leg as compared to others that might be cut from the flank. This means more juiciness and flavor is retained because of the bone.

How to cook Lamb Steaks?
+
-

We recommend grilling or pan-searing to make the most of all the moisture and tenderness. Popular Lamb Steak recipes often include mint, pesto, garlic, thyme, and rosemary as flavors to enjoy in your cut.

What’s the difference: Lamb Steak vs Beef Steak?
+
-

Where Beef boasts a robust umami flavor, Lamb offers a subtle sweet flavor to the dinner. When it comes to nutrition, Lamb is generally lighter on calories and sometimes used as a substitute for Beef for this reason.
