Grass Run Farms® Southwest Burger

A good-ole grilled cheeseburger is always a good idea no matter the season. Burgers bring good conversation, cook-time is quick, and they're easy to make in bulk, which is perfect for backyard dinner gatherings or tailgates. To put some extra, unexpected zing to the traditional cheeseburger, our friends at Grass Run Farms® have added a Southwest spin with guacamole and salsa. Build the burgers before serving, or place the toppings in small serving dishes for a BYOB (build-your-own-burger) line. Let's get to grilling!

Serving Size: Makes 6 burgers

Cut Type: Frozen Ground Beef Patties

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Place the frozen ground beef patties directly on the grill. Cook for 6 minutes or until juice forms directly on the patty.
  3. Flip the burger and cook for 6-7 more minutes until the internal temperature of the beef patty reaches 160°F or your preferred doneness.
  4. Cover each cooked burger with a slice of cheese and let the edges melt onto the beef patty.
  5. Once slightly melted, remove the burgers from the grill.
  6. To build the burgers, spread a spoonful of salsa and guacamole on the heel of the buns and top with sliced jalapeños.
  7. Add the burger patties, place the top bun, and enjoy.
